Special Topic: The Internet and the US Presidential Elections 2008

(deutsche Textfassung unten!) In the present election campaigns for President of the United States the use of the Internet reaches unprecedented levels. According to a study of the Pew Internet & American Life Projects (June 2008) 40% of the adult US-American population used the internet to get information about the candidates until spring 2008 - before the end of the primary season and months before the election itself. 17% of all adults look online for news or information about the campaigns on every typical day. These figures and the specific practices in the use of web 2.0-techniques are the subject of our Online Webmonday. We will try to have guests from the United States and therefore you should count on an English conversation that evening!
